"The only thing more powerful than hate is love."

"The only thing more powerful than hate is love."

Patriots,

This message is the strategic truth of successful resistance.

We're angry. We have every right to be. But movements grow through values, not venting. Our numbers swell when we focus on peace, freedom, and the dignity of every person.

MLK emphasized that nonviolent protest included nonviolent messaging. In labor organizing, unions know one "F— the Boss" sign undermines weeks of community relationship building. Profane signs don't expand our movement—they shrink it. They give our opponents ammunition. They tell potential allies: "This isn't for you."

We want everyone to join us. The retired teacher. The small business owner. The teenager just learning to find their voice. The person who's never protested before. The veteran. The skeptical neighbor who's starting to wonder if maybe we're right.

When you make your sign for Tuesday, ask yourself: Would this make someone want to join us? Does this reflect the democracy we're trying to defend?

We're not looking to be polite in the face of tyranny. We're challenging ourselves to be strategic, disciplined, and powerful. It's infuriating that MAGA acts however they want and faces no consequences. But they're a shrinking movement running on hate and fear. We're a growing one running on hope and values. They can afford to alienate people—we can't. We need everyone.

As Ella Baker said: "Give light and people will find the way."

Power concedes nothing without a demand. Let's make our demands clear, compelling, and impossible to ignore. Let's build the biggest and most welcoming movement Westfield has ever seen!
