We Shall Overcome Peacefully

We Shall Overcome Peacefully · No Kings Westfield
Can’t make our Tuesday or Friday standouts? Join us for a monthly Saturday standout in Park Square, 11AM-12PM! We’re rallying under the theme “We Shall Overcome Peacefully” to reaffirm our commitment to the nonviolent resistance that has always been America’s most powerful force for change. From the freedom fighters who sued for their liberty in 1781 Westfield to the Civil Rights Movement that transformed a nation, our greatest victories have come through discipline, dignity, and unwavering moral clarity—not through hate or division. True resistance means building the world we want to see. It means welcoming everyone to our movement with signs that reflect our values: peace, freedom, justice, and human dignity. It means showing our neighbors that democracy is worth defending—and worth joining. As Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Stand with us as we demonstrate that strategic, loving resistance is the most powerful force in American history. Help us make this a regular monthly Saturday event, connect with neighbors who share your values, and grow our local democracy movement together. Leadership opportunities available!

Saturday, February 28, – 12:00-1:00PM, Holyoke (by Barnes & Noble near the mall).
