Hello Patriots,

Tomorrow, Tuesday February 24th at 3:30 PM in Park Square — bring a shovel!

We're asking folks to come a few minutes early or stay after to help clear up the park. Our presence in that square is a statement of care for this community — let's show it. Whether you have five minutes or thirty, every hand helps. See you there.

We're still asking you to bring your best to Saturday's rally. Every day until the 28th, we'll be featuring them on our Facebook. Signs that invite people in. Signs that build the world we want to see. Signs that reflect peace, freedom, and the dignity of every person.

Closing Out Black History Month: Remember Fred Hampton

We all stay right here
with the people
because we love the people.

Fred Hampton was 21 years old when he was assassinated by the Chicago Police Department and the FBI in 1969. Twenty-one. Before his death, he had built something that terrified those in power: a Rainbow Coalition — bringing together people across race, class, and neighborhood lines who had been told they were enemies. He understood that the most dangerous thing a movement could do was make enemies into allies.

They killed him because it was working.

Fred Hampton didn't just organize for his community. He organized with everyone willing to stand for dignity. He built power not by shrinking the tent, but by throwing the doors open.

The powerful have always feared that moment when people stop seeing each other as enemies and start seeing each other as neighbors. Our job is to keep making that moment real.
