This Saturday: No Kings 3!
Patriots,
Three weeks into a war that Congress never voted for. At least 13 American service members dead, more than 230 wounded. A $200 billion Pentagon funding request for an "excursion" the president promised would be short. Thousands more troops deploying with no endgame in sight. ICE agents in airports as TSA agents continue to go unpaid. Horrors exacted upon CHILDREN at so-called detention facilities across the nation. A complicit Congress asleep at the wheel. Still no justice for victims in the Epstein files. And this week, the question being asked in Washington is not whether any of this was right, it's how to find an exit before the midterms.
Empire is a policy choice. It can be unmade. But only if we refuse to look away.
This is exactly the moment No Kings 3 was made for!
De-escalation
We must continue to drive home the importance of non-violent protest. In participating in our events, you are agreeing to our non-violent approach. This is incredibly important at all events, but especially at LARGE events in the square. The following infographics talk about de-escalation, central to keeping us safe, calm, and effective. We are not here to fight or argue with people hanging out of their vehicles and screaming obscenities. These people don't want to be convinced or have a good-faith discussion, they want to embarrass and harass us. This isn't a Facebook post, it's real life!
If you find yourself in a confrontation at one of our events– pause, walk away, and find someone in a vest. If you find yourself in immediate danger or an emergency, call 911.

Steve Harvester and Westfield Friends of Peace lead fifteen readings — for people of all beliefs — connecting the struggle for liberation across time. All are welcome.

We are going for 1,000 people through Westfield alone. This is what a year of Tuesdays has been building toward. Invite everyone!
