Pride Month! Datacenters! Our 250th, and who got Freedom...
Patriots,
On the Freedom Truck
Update from the Westfield Police:
The Freedom 250 Mobile History Truck event Scheduled for June 14 through 16, 2026, has been canceled.
Following the announcement of the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum event on social media last week, it was brought to our attention that while the program receives partial funding and support from federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Education, it is also supported by PragerU, a media organization associated with a particular political viewpoint.
When the Westfield Police Department arranged for this event and partnered with Westfield State University to provide the location for the museum, our sole objective was to provide a free, educational, and family-friendly opportunity for community engagement. We believed the mobile museum would offer a unique way for residents to learn about American history while allowing officers to connect with the community we serve. At no time was our participation intended to endorse or promote any political ideology, organization, or viewpoint.
However, over the past week it has become clear that some members of both the University and Westfield community perceive our involvement differently. While that perception does not reflect our intent, we recognize that maintaining the trust and confidence of the community is essential. Because even the appearance of political alignment could negatively impact that trust, we have made the decision to cancel the event.
We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this decision may cause.

Thank you to all of our community members who reached out to our city, the police, and WSU administration.

Pride 2026
And now, to celebrate...here are some invites!
Join us tonight at 5:15PM (wear your No Kings Westfield shirt and your best pride gear!) for Westfield's flag raising, and come find us Saturday at Rainbows Over Elm Pridefest at the Elm Street Plaza. Come read and make zines, check out our regular No Kings resources, or donate for a t-shirt (supply is limited!).
Raising the pride flag in our city is important– but do not let your advocacy end there! Our federal government, red states, and Republican congress continues to reach their fetid hand into queer and trans lives every day. We will not be silent while our friends, family, and neighbors are erased.

Juneteenth Celebration
Steve and Judy Harvester warmly welcome you to celebrate our country’s second Independence Day. Celebrate our ongoing No Kings community also, as we’ve defied a tyrant together, weekly, since March 4, 2025. Meaty and meatless chili, fruit, and cold non-alcoholic drinks will be on hand. Feel free to bring other finger foods (no tables), non-alcoholic beverages, lawn chairs, and lawn games (we have bocce!). Ron Draper will bring his guitar and banjo. We don’t have a grill, but if someone can bring one, let us know and we’ll invite folks to bring yummies for grilling. We do have a fire pit and skewers, so hot dogs and s’mores are definitely welcome!
- Love y’all,
Judy and Steve Harvester

When we fight, we win.
