Abolish ICE

Abolish ICE

Activism works. Protest works. The point of protesting, is power. When we get together, we show our power.

The good news is, Citzen's Bank has bent to pressure from YOU and fellow activists across the country to end their financial ties to private ICE prisons owned by GEO and CoreCivic. We will watch closely to ensure this actually happens, and keep the pressure on. You can join a group in front of the Citizen's Bank sign in Westfield one more time, tomorrow, Tuesday July 21st 3:30PM-4:45PM. Here are some example signs!

Our electeds and political hopefuls must hear from us that we do not accept ICE murdering people in the streets. This cannot be the way.

Call them, from local, to state, to the federal level, and tell them that this matters to you and your neighbors. Show up at their offices and tell them that Lorenzo and Johan will not be forgotten. That agents of the federal government murdering someone lawfully present in this country did not happen in some distant place. It happened in Biddeford, Maine.

What will our representatives do when it happens here in Massachusetts? In Westfield? Ask your local represenatives and mayor and police and county sheriff: "What will you do when ICE murders in Westfield?" Ask your state reps and senator and your governor: "What will you do when ICE murders in Massachusetts?"

Then, ask your neighbor. "Will you stand with me?"

A better world is possible. Do not let the people meant to lead and protect get away with doing NOTHING.

Please join us Saturday, July 25th in Park Square from 11-12PM. We will vigil for John and Lorenzo and Alex and Renee, and for all those who have died in ICE custody.

And if the politicians still have nothing to say? Tell them how you feel at the polls.

We must ensure record voter turnout this primary (Sep 1) and midterms (Nov 3).

Join us on Saturday, August 1st from 11-1PM at the Westfield Athenaeum to send out postcards to your neighbors in Westfield to remind them to make a plan to vote!

Postcard Writing: Make A Plan To Vote! · Indivisible
Join No King Westfield’s second initiative to increase voter turnout! We are coming together to write postcards encouraging people to make a plan to vote in the upcoming elections. If you are looking for a meaningful way to get involved, we urge you to join us. Studies show that receiving a handwritten postcard increases a person’s likelihood to vote by about 1%. While that might sound small, a 1% bump in turnout is often the exact margin needed to decide close local elections. Writing postcards is a simple, powerful way to make a tangible difference. It’s also a great opportunity to connect and chat with neighbors who care about civic engagement. We will have some postcard stamps available, but please bring your own to contribute if you can. Please register in advance so we can prepare enough postcards for everyone. When: Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Where: Westfield Athenaeum, 6 Elm St, Westfield, MA 01085 *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*

This is all happening under our watch. It ends when enough of us say no.
