9 months of defiance and community

9 months of defiance and community

Happy Monday, Patriots!

Every once in a while, some brave soul attempts to summarize in one essay the entire disaster which is the presidency of Donald Trump. The Canadian Andrew Coyne’s essay is as good an attempt, understanding that no essay can grasp it all since new outrages are added daily. Coyne suggests why that must be the case, although he leaves us to draw the obvious conclusion: this won’t end until he goes over the cliff. The only question is whether he will succeed in taking all of us over the cliff with him.

A view from our neighbor

No Kings Westfield began last March with a determination that we would stand against tyranny and for democracy every week, rain or shine, in heat and cold, until we have a President who doesn’t want to be a king. We have kept that pledge now for over nine months, whether we were 600+ on June 14, 800+ on October 18, or 29 in the dark and cold. And, as we sang together then, “We are very cold, but we shall not be moved. Like a tree planted by the water—we shall not be moved.”

Whether or not you are physically able to be with us in person, downtown on Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 pm or Fridays on the I-90 overpass 3:00-4:20 pm, we know you are with us.

We will continue to defy tyranny until the tyrants are gone, and as we do so we are building the strongest community we've ever been part of.
