Six Months of Standing Up - And We're Just Getting Started

Hello Patriots!
This is Jordan speaking. I just wanted to put together a little thank message for my fellow organizers, and all of our attendees. I hope you'll forgive the verbosity, and I hope my friends will forgive me publishing this on my own. Back in March, in the still freezing cold weather, I sought sanctuary in community. I found it with all of you!

This month marks something extraordinary: six months of unwavering weekly rallies at Park Square in Westfield, Massachusetts. Six months of showing up, speaking truth, and standing together for American democracy. Six months of proving that when ordinary citizens refuse to be silent, we become an unstoppable force for good.

When we first gathered in March 2025, we were a handful of concerned neighbors and a couple of dogs asking a simple question: What do we do when democracy itself is under attack? Today, we are 400+ strong with 47-70 patriots showing up every Tuesday at 4 PM - rain or shine, hot or cold, election season or not.

That's not just persistence. That's the kind of sustained civic engagement that changes history.
In Westfield:
- We've transformed Park Square into a weekly beacon of democratic values
- Our "NO KINGS" message has sparked conversations in coffee shops, schools, and community centers across Hampden County
- We've connected with the broader Indivisible movement, adding our voice to millions defending democracy nationwide
- We've proven that small cities can be laboratories for large-scale democratic renewal

Political scientists who study successful movements tell us something powerful: sustained, visible action by just 3.5% of the population can topple authoritarian regimes. We're not just holding signs on Tuesday afternoons - we're building the kind of persistent civic muscle that protects democracy for generations.
Every week we gather, we're saying:
- NO to the concentration of power in the hands of one person
- YES to the rule of law, voting rights, and constitutional democracy
- NO KINGS in America - then, now, or ever
This is the same spirit that built the Underground Railroad, won women the vote, and secured civil rights. We stand in that tradition.
What's Next: From Rallies to Active Resistance
As we enter our second six months, we're evolving. The Tuesday rallies continue - they're our heartbeat, our weekly promise to democracy. But we're also becoming "a stick in the spokes of the MAGA wheel" through:
- Strategic education sessions diving deeper into nonviolent resistance tactics
- Coalition building with organizations across Western Massachusetts
- Creative resistance using art, poetry, and culture to inspire our neighbors
Whether you've been with us from day one or you're joining for the first time, we need you there. Democracy isn't a spectator sport.
Can't make Tuesdays? Here's how to stay connected:
- Sign up for our strategic planning sessions (email us for details)
- Follow our social media for weekly updates and action alerts
- Talk to your neighbors and local businesses - every conversation plants seeds of democratic engagement
- Support our growing network of Western Massachusetts resistance groups

To my fellow organizers, who do all of this for free, with a smile: Thank you.
To everyone who has stood with us through these six months: Thank you.
To the first-time rally-goers who overcome their nervousness to add their voice: Thank you.
To the supporters who can't always attend but cheer us on from afar: Thank you.
To the families who bring children, showing them what civic engagement looks like: Thank you.
You are the reason democracy survives. You are proof that when good people refuse to be silent, we can move mountains.
We said we'd rally "until we have a president who doesn't wish to be king." That commitment hasn't changed. But we've learned something profound in these six months: we're not just waiting for political change - we're creating the civic culture that makes lasting democratic renewal possible.
Every Tuesday at Park Square, we're not just protesting. We're practicing democracy. We're building the skills, relationships, and shared commitment that will carry us through whatever challenges lie ahead.
As Frederick Douglass reminded us: "If there is no struggle, there is no progress." The struggle continues. The progress is real. And we're just getting started.
In solidarity and determination,
No Kings Westfield
